Premier League chief executive, Richard Masters, has warned supporters not to show up at stadiums, as matches resume today.

England’s top flight kicks off again on Wednesday with games behind-closed-doors.

Masters has now issued a stern warning, that some high-profile fixtures could be switched to neutral venues if fans turn up to games.

This comes amid concerns from the police about mass gatherings near the stadiums.

“Fans are going to get some very clear messages from their clubs, from the managers and club captains about staying away and watching at home.

“That’s why all the matches are on TV and many of them on a wider distribution, free-to-air basis.

“We think the messaging is going to be very clear, we’re very hopeful there won’t be any incidents and gatherings outside football matches,” Masters told the league’s official website.

Aston Villa welcome Sheffield United to Villa Park on Wednesday, before Manchester City host Arsenal.
