Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta, has said his team’s lack of ruthlessness is the reason they were eliminated from the Europa League on Thursday night.
The Gunners came into the second leg at the Emirates, with a 1-0 win at Olympiacos.
However, the Greek club levelled the tie on aggregate through Pape Abou Cisse, forcing the tie to extra time.
Pierre-Emerick’s equalizer looked to have saved the day for Arsenal, but Youssef El-Arabi struck late to seal a dramatic win for Olympiacos.
“I think we have enough goal threat in this team, but we have to put the chances to bed and in Europe, it’s in both boxes.
“In the opponent’s box, we missed chances that should have been goals and in our box there were a few things that they had and they put them in.
On the set-pieces we were vulnerable again so these are things to improve,” Arteta told the club’s official website.
