Bayer Leverkusen attacker Kai Havertz has reportedly agreed personal terms with Chelsea ahead of a proposed move to Stamford Bridge during this summer’s transfer window.
The 21-year-old has allegedly told Leverkusen that he wants to join Frank Lampard’s side ahead of the 2020-21 campaign, despite interest from the likes of Real Madrid and Manchester United.
According to Italian journalist Nicolo Schira, there is already a ‘total agreement’ between Havertz’s agent and Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia when it comes to personal terms.
Schira claims that the Germany international has agreed a five-year contract worth €8m (£7.2m) a year plus add-ons, although Chelsea are yet to settle on a transfer fee with Leverkusen.
A recent report claimed that the Premier League club were waiting to make sure of a Champions League spot for the 2020-21 campaign before launching an official bid.
Havertz, who is capable of playing in a number of different forward positions, scored 17 times and registered nine assists in 43 appearances for Leverkusen during the 2019-20 campaign.
