Italian giants Juventus have terminated contracts of duo Gonzalo Higuain and Sami Khedira.
Andrea Pirlo has started making his mark at Juventus after axing Higuain and Khedira from his squad. The Italian took over as the head coach after Maurizio Sarri was recently sacked by the Old Lady. Juventus, despite winning a ninth consecutive Serie A title, is in need of an overhaul with their aging squad failing to deliver in Europe.
Higuain and Khedira exit comes after the club released Blaise Matuidi who joined MLS side Inter Miami. By releasing Higuain, who has netted just eight goals in 32 Serie A games, the Italian side will be relieved to get rid of the Argentine’s £6.7m annual wage bill.
